I am a hypnobirthing practitoner. I stumbled across hypnobirthing as I was pregnant with my first baby and put it down to hippy nonsense, but was blown away by the difference it made to me. When I was pregnant the second time, we took a course and I learnt so much more. The difference it made to me understanding my options and empowering me were incredible. I came up against a lot of pressure to be induced, despite both of us being monitored and all being well and once my little one arrived I felt cross that this special time had been filled with this stress and saddened that so many women are so fearful of birth, when it doesn’t have to be this way. So I retrained.
What Wellness rituals do you swear by?
Taking time for me is essential. If I am stressed or tired, I cannot teach to my best level and that isn’t fair to anyone. Also turning off my phone and focussing on the present. If things get too much I meditate too.
What are your tips for incorporating Wellness into a busy schedule?
Even ten minutes here or there can make a big difference. Sometimes if feels like you don’t have time to down tools, but the benefits of doing it are well worth it.
