DAY 26 | Reflexology: Reflexology by Harrie

Tell us a bit about yourself and/or your business and how you got to where you are today

I am a Reflexologist based in Nine Elms, London SW8. I trained under Louise Keet at the London School of Reflexology. I moved to London in 2009 and trained as an Actor. I have been working professionally since then, but decided in 2016 that it was time to add another string to my bow. I wanted to train in a Holistic Therapy, and Reflexology appealed to me, mainly because it is a Holistic Therapy that is also endorsed by the NHS. I graduated as a Reflexologist in Spring 2017 and set my business up in September last year. I have a bespoke treatment room in my home.

As a therapist, my main ethos is that, as stress causes around 75% of all illnesses, treating the symptoms of stress can help us to be happier and healthier, both mentally and physically. I therefore place the main focus of my treatments on reducing stress and achieving a sense of equilibrium and calm. I begin every Reflexology session with a relaxing foot spa, ensure that the client is wrapped up and warm, and scent the room with natural essential oils. I treat holistically and aim to reduce stress and anxiety in my clients. In addition to Reflexology, I am currently training in Holistic Massage, and will be training as an Aromatherapist from April this year.

What Wellness rituals do you swear by?

Essential Oil Therapy, Reflexology, A Proper Bedtime Ritual and Laughter. Deep, belly laughs heal the soul!

 
What are your tips for incorporating Wellness in to a busy schedule?

Find a Wellness ritual that you love and look forward to, and then it won’t seem difficult to incorporate it into a busy lifestyle. Even something as simple as always having a nighttime blend tea before going to bed, or booking a course of fortnightly treatments that you can fit in and look forward to. If you find something that works for you, great, but I’d also recommend trying new things. Keep your Wellness activities new and varied and don’t be afraid to try something different. For on the go wellness, there are some excellent meditation apps to listen to on the go.
